Next edition?
I know we've only just got near the end of #19 but are we looking for ideas for #20.
I was going to propose Silver (as in anniversaries). Then I looked it up and found the 20th was actually China.
So I've two proposals (though I'm more than happy to go with anybody else's ideas instead), 'China' or 'Silver and Gold' (it's the time of year for a bit of bling).

Finally finished
I finished gluing the covers this morning.
If you want to see more and read the poem that the title came from click here
As I photographed them 3 more books came through the door. I haven't opened them yet (saving that for a quiet moment to enjoy them in) but Stephanie, Petru and Martine they've all arrived safely. Thank you.

Change of Direction
A couple of weeks ago I woke up and couldn’t get out of bed.
Moving was agony. Too much time spent bending over a worktable and not enough
changing position and doing other things.
Well I can now move better but I still don’t bend or stretch
easily. In terms of studio work this means I can stand at the drawing table and
scribble, if I don’t over reach, and I can use the computer.
I was going to make coloured offset prints from a large
collagraph plate for #19 (Nature) but the roller at HBP I need for the this
size of work is rather large so I think it will be too heavy and too much of a stretch
at the moment.
So I’m having a rethink.I’m considering snails.
Medieval ones of course.

Nature Collaboration - changed tack
I've changed my mind about what to do. The above is a cropped image of an accordian book of six A6 pages. The eco-printing turned out unsatisfactory. I've written several haiku, all to do with nature, that will go in - still to do. I'm about halfway, considering the covers still have to be made.

Apologies
I started a project with a deadline of the end of August and
didn’t realise just how much time it would take. The knock on effect is that my
book for this collaboration will be late. I hope to get it done by the end of
September/ middle of October. Just
thought I’d let people know.
This image is from the time consuming thing.

Nature, experimentation
Two samples of explorations into the theme of Nature. Eco-printing is involved. I cheated and added modge podge, a glue used for decoupage, to adhere actual leaves as I was dissatisfied with the first outcome. Text will be added.

Playing with ideas
I've been experimenting with different techniques for a different project. One of the techniques was making a collagraph plate using impressions in plaster. It doesn't work for the original project but I think I may have found a way into 'Nature'
Single colour
visciosity inking
offset from the roller when viscosity inking
smaller pieces laid on the plate
and offset

3.0 # 19 (Nature)
Ok - I said nature :-) - hope that was sort of in everyones ballpark - or did I dream it??! Its wide open to interpretation and I for one would like to see the corner of the world YOU live in. I took this photo on 26th May 2011 from the balcony - its one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I guess this was before drought struck South Africa. It reminds me of Everlasting Covenants. Please put your participation into THIS discussion so its all in one place.

Books I have so far:
I will be discussing the joyous merits of collaboration using our last efforts on Friday at the Bookness Colloquium, including some of our other projects, time permitting. If more books arrive before Thursday they will squeeze in too. So Svenja and Petru, I'm hoping!!! Somewhere I read mumblings of another collaboration? At this rate we will do one a year - but thats WAY better than nothing!!! It will be our 19th book - thats quite something by anyones standards! Just to make it difficult (or easy???) how about 3.0 # 19 (Nineteen)??

Apologies from Jac
I'm sorry. When I said I was going to post out the books what I obviously meant to say was that I was going to wrap and address them and then leave them on a table and forget about going to the post office.
Books have been taken to the post office today and should be with you shortly
